Tallaoen
BRIEF HISTORY
There are still a number of old folks in the barangay who can tell the interesting history of Barangay Tallaoen:
In the early 19th century, there were no people living in this place for it was full of Maguey plants. People resided in the barangays of Tagudin, one of which is “Cabugao” now called “Pacac”. Pacac is situated along a river connected to Amburayan River. In 1908, a big flood started to frighten the people living in Pacac. More floods came the following years. So in 1910, houses were started to build and more families came.
One day, a priest came and told the people that this place will be called “Sta. Maria” after the Blessed Virgin Mary’s name. The people used to call the place Sta. Maria. But as years passed by, it was again called Tallaoen because you can clearly see the place anywhere. Since then, people began calling the place “Tallaoen” until now.
Brgy. Tallaoen is one of the 43 barangays of the Municipality of Tagudin and is progressing. It is located along the National Highway and in the middle of the fields. It is around 9 hectares with 250 houses and around 950 inhabitants.
