BRIEF HISTORY

            Barangay Pallogan is located at the eastern part of Tagudin about 3.5 kilometers from the town proper.  It’s now one of the 43 progressive, peaceful and fruitful barangays of the Municipality of Tagudin.  As of January 2009, it comprises of 210 families with a total population of 896.  Most of the residents depend on farming and fishing. 

 

            During the early and olden times, the now barangay “Pallogan” was a forest.  A hunter went to area in search for wild animals.  He saw a wild pig (baboy damo, alingo) and aimed at it.  However, he missed his shot and said “bakit ‘di ko napal-ugan ung baboy?”(why had I not shot the wild pig?).  It was from his statement that the place was named “Pallogan” from the Ilocano word “napaltogan” meaning “shot”.
