Bucao East
BRIEF HISTORY
Existing documents prove that barangays Bio, Bucao West, San Miguel, Salvacion and Malacanang. These were sitios before were the refuge places of people coming from the different areas of Tagudin whose lands were inundated by floods.
The legend states that this Baranagy got its name from a certain rice pest called “bukaw” (bocao, bocaw, bukaw, etc.) that appeared annually and infested the rice fields in the region and resulted to low productivity of farm products.
