Baracbac

BRIEF HISTORY

During the Spanish regime, Barangay Baracbac has so many horse radish plants or the so called “marunggay” in the local vernacular.

One time during the above-mentioned regime, the Spaniards asked from one of the barangay constituents the name of the place. The constituent might have misunderstood or maybe didn’t understand what the Spaniards were asking so he just replied uncertainly “Barakubak” thinking that the Spaniards were asking the name of the yellow leaves of the “marunggay” plants.

Since that time, the Spaniards called this place as Barangay “Baracbac” instead of “Barakubak” because they could hardly pronounce it.

This is how this barangay got its name “BARACBAC” which was carried by its constituents since then and up to the present times.
