Forty-five (45) College and Sixty-two (62) High School Students faced the Screening Committee for the “Edukasyon Para Iti Amin” Scholarship Program headed by Dr. Jocelyn L. Lamadrid (Municipal Agriculturist/HRMO Designate) this morning, 17 May 2012, at the 2nd floor of the Municipal Hall.

Members of the Screening Committee for the “Edukasyon Para Iti Amin” held their meeting on May 16, 2012 in preparation for the upcoming screening-interview of scholar applicants for the said program of the Local Government Unit of Tagudin.

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office led the Flag Raising Ceremony this morning, 14 May 2012, at the Municipal Hall Grounds.

Our beloved Municipality of Tagudin is the only municipality nationwide chosen as a pilot project of President Aquino’s PWD Road Show. Said program focuses in giving services to more or less 8 million persons with disabilities, including senior citizens with difficulties in mobility.

On May 5, 2012, as one of the highlights in celebration of the 8^th TIKANLU Festival, about 1,084 identified Persons with Disabilities were invited for the first ever PWD Road Show in Tagudin where Mayor Jun distributed canes to our elders . Mayor Sonia Lorenzo of San Isidro, Nueva Ecija and Executive Director of the Union of Local Authorities of the Philippines (ULAP) was the Guest during the said program.

Kap Ed Tiongson visits Las-Ud Elementary School this morning, 11 May 2012, for the pre-evaluation of the said school in being a top two (2) finalist in the e.Studyante Program of Synergeia Foundation in partnership with Campaigns and Gray and Procter and Gamble Philippines.

Dr. Buenafe D. Medrano (District Supervisor), Mrs. Susana Pascasio (Las-Ud Elementary School, Principal), Mr. Mark Louie Fajardo (Tourism Operations Assistant) and Barangay Captain Felisidro B. Lagria accompanied Kap Ed during the pre-inspection.

Members of the Municipal Task Force on Coastal Resource Management convened this morning, 10 May 2012, to discuss on the upcoming dropping of additional thirty-sever (37) units of Artificial Reefs at the Fish Sanctuary in Filmag, Barangay Libtong.

Said meeting was presided by Ms. Aiza Marie P. Lazaga, Environmental Management Specialist.

The official introduction of tutors to the learners and parents/guardians held at Municipal Auditorium on May 10, 2012 at the Municipal Auditorium as part of the LGU’s “Summer Tutorial Program”. It was facilitated by Dr. Jocelyn L. Lamadrid (Municipal Agriculturist/HRMO Designate/Chairman of the Summer Tutorial Course), SBM Fatima Pagaduan (SB Committee Chairman on Education) and Mr. Mark Louie Fajardo (Tourism Operations Assistant/ LHB Secretariat).

Mayor Jun graced the said activity.

Mr. Pedrito Layco ( Focal Person on Information of Barangay Tarangotong) received the Certificate of Recognition for being a Model Tagudinian for saving the life of  a drowning victim during the Lenten Season at Barangay Tarangotong Beach.

Barangay Focal Persons on Information held their regular monthly meeting on May 9, 2012 (2:00PM) at the 2nd floor of the Municipal Hall presided by Ms. Melanie V. Gabriel, Information Officer II.
